The relationship between often forced worker labour - Kolhoz (so-called collective farm), and the development of mass farming implicates the transition in land relations that preceeded capitalism. The propaganda-driver documentation of food production also comes into stark contrast with the stories of food management as a means of oppression. By arranging a temporary kiosk stand, the artists talk about the themes of both exiting soil and food imperialism, global interdependence, and food as a grassroots support network and the cultivation of family or memories.&nbsp; It is a story of food, but also of sustaining life continuity through everyday forms of resistance. In the kiosk, which was opened for the duration of the performance, the artists combined the cooking of traditional food with an information point on the food crisis, while rhizomes, tubers, roots serve as both scenography and metaphor - underground, systems of sharing, strength. So what could be the recipe for solidarity? It began with a spontaneous collection of money, medicine and food, as well as a campaign to mass-produce sandwiches for incoming refugees. Quickly, the ad hoc, grassroots impulse began to develop into an organized activity. weapons, but also the national flower of Ukraine, the world's largest exporter of sunflower oil. Sunflowers became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance and hope after a viral video circulated the worldwide with a woman giving Russian soldiers a sunflower seeds, predicting: "You will die on my land. Put the seeds in your pockets, at least let sunflowers grow after you." The “Sunflower” is visited by people engaged in help and solidarity activities and those who seek a safe space to talk and be together. During the first three weeks of our activities we prepared over 30 thousand sandwiches distributed to Warsaw’s railway station; organized transports of medicines and medical equipment to the hospital in Chernivtsi and, together with the Nomadic Women Foundation, delivered thousands of hot meals to the Wołoska Crisis Center. We collected money and aid, collectively read Ukrainian poetry, and organized spontaneous meetings, discussions, integration activities, workshops and classes for children. The group “Photos for Documents” provided free photo services. Currently, „Słonecznik” supported the community gathered around the initiative and collaborates with Ukrainian artists, activists and cultural workers, many of which now reside or temporarily stay in Warsaw. SCC runs its own public program on war, Ukrainian history, culture and art; Russian imperialism, or issues of decolonization in Central and Eastern Europe. It hosts Polish and Ukrainian language classes, workshops for children and adults, educational and performance events, lectures, meetings of the "Pogovorymo" movie club, poetry evenings, concerts, and meetings with artists and activists. It also provides a safe space for being together. One of the changing areas is the language. A need to describe new phenomena is arising, and the Polish language is being enriched not only by regional dialects but also by various accents. There are also new language clichés emerging, which define different minorities. Most importantly, language is a tool for communication. People from abroad learn it to integrate with Polish society. They learn how to define themselves and others during the process. What are those definitions? What meanings do they carry? Yulia Krivich decided to search for the answer. She has initiated the “Vocabulary” project, in which immigrants were invited to write entries, i.e. words with meanings based on their memories and feelings associated with the experience of relocation to Poland. Selected words will be displayed and visualised by the artist as photographs and objects. The words are chosen during the Open Table meetings, to which Yulia Krivich invites people who experienced migration as well as the audience. Each person present at the meeting may propose their own terms and definitions. The Round Table formula relates to a political meeting, when the interested groups deliberate over “the fate of their species”. It is also similar to group therapy, when people with different backgrounds, of different ages and social statuses, from different countries can talk about their experiences and the process of empowerment and defining oneself in a new environment. This form helps emphasize the political dimension of everyone’s personal experience. Polish grammar uses "w" for countries and "na" for islands, regions, and, notably, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, and Hungary. These countries, sharing a history with Poland, also experienced periods without full sovereignty. Could this prepositional usage be a linguistic vestige of a past colonial relationship? How did this linguistic tradition originate? On December 14, 2019, I stood at Warsaw's West Railway Station, a symbolic point of arrival for many Ukrainian immigrants, holding the "W Ukrainie" flag.
